Project Completion Date: May 2007
Company: Darby Partners Ltd
32 Lot Blue Chip Rural Subdivision
The project is constructed in amongst native fauna which the client had stipulated must be preserved. This has meant working within a tight envelope. The project entails over 6km of roading with associated utilities, drainage and retaining structures. We also constructed a major widening to the Glenorchy-Queenstown road and an associated intersection. During the construction phase of Wyuna we completed over 100,000m3 of bulk earthworks and laid hundreds of metres of services/.
Throughout the construction phase of the project the design has been changed continually, to meet the criteria of the landscape designer. This put enormous strain on all concerned and meant that we were working to very tight timescales. Despite this we still completed and sealed around 4km of roading and still managing to work within the required quality parameters. The project also included rock retaining walls, ponds, landscaping and rural walkways to access features within the subdivision.
Wyuna is the second major subdivision we have utilised our GPS Machine Control equipment for earthworks and roading construction with benefits being noticed by both the client and contractor.
