The team at Wilson Contractors are experienced in working on high profile projects where the image and requirements of the client is paramount.
Our Management team carry a wide range of experience and practical know how, and can provide alternative methods and ideas when solving construction problems. No matter how thorough the design or site investigations, there are always some unforeseen problems encountered on-site. The management structure is highly flexible and our team will often take on additional roles and duties as required by the business.

Managing Director

Tony Wilson

After starting the business with his father, Murray, Wilson Contractors became a Limited Liability Company in 2003. At that time we saw a rapid growth due, in part, to the development of the Queenstown and Central Otago region’s but also because Tony had gained the reputation of delivering an honest day’s work that was of a very high standard whilst still offering excellent value – he has developed strong business relationships with our clients which continues today. His local knowledge and business contacts are pivotal to Wilson Contractors and are of great benefit to any project. ​ ​

Tony’s ability to think outside of the box and open approach has seen Wilson Contractors go from strength to strength. Tony is constantly developing innovative work methods that result in an enhanced performance. He has invested time to develop these ideas and construct the plant that is needed. Tony is a hands on Director who will always strive to complete every project to the highest standards of quality.

CEO

Steve Osborne

Steve is a UK qualified Civil Engineer with 18 years civil construction experience in both the UK and NZ. Steve started on the ground and worked his way through various complex civil engineering projects in various countries for both large and small leading engineering firms to where he is today as our CEO.
This route into his role has given him invaluable hands on knowledge, a practical approach and a personality that allows him to effectively communicate with and bring out the best in our entire staff.
Over the years he has worked for both central and local government in completing infrastructure projects. He has completed projects for commodity companies providing gas, oil, power and water. He has also worked for private developers undertaking a wide range of projects. The works above have included, but are not limited to, earthworks, drainage, utilities, roading, bridges, tunnels, foundations, land rehabilitation, culverts, industrial buildings and subdivisions.
Finance Manager

Ceri Wiggens

Ceri joined Wilsons’ in 2021 and oversees finance and office management for all branches. Ceri brings vast experience with administration and finance within the contracting industry having held previous similar management roles in civil contracting, construction and transport.

Ceri has a broad knowledge of accounting and administrations processes and experience in managing staff across a variety of disciplines.

General Manager

Mike McAllister

Mike joined Wilson Contractors in 2018 and comes with more than twelve year’s onsite experience across a variety of civil projects in Christchurch, Queenstown and overseas. He brings valuable knowledge in open trenching along with experience of works in high groundwater tables and rock. Relevant past projects include two underground projects for Orion (66kV Waimakariri-Rawhiti, Cabling and 66kV Bromley-Dallington Cabling) in addition to the SCIRT City Centre Gravity Sewer, SCIRT Aranui Low Pressure Sewer, and a three year Watermain Rehabilitation for Northern Ireland Water.

Michael is a skilled manager of onsite work crews, including subcontractors, and is very familiar at coordinating works across multiple sites. He understands how to set clear objectives and expectations around quality, and leads by example on all site safety matters. Michael is skilled in site and programme planning, and has the adaptability to deal with design changes and other variations.

Commercial Manager

Tony Jones

Tony has over 10 years’ experience in the civil construction industry and prior to joining Wilsons was a member of the Delta Major Projects Team based in Dunedin. Tony is fluent with Microsoft Project, Estimating software and job costing software enabling him to track financials and monitor contract programming.
Tony oversaw a number of projects in the Queenstown area, including the $1.9M Jacks Point Pump Station project and the Millbrook 3B development before moving to Cromwell to take up the position of Contracts Manager. Tony brings a wealth of knowledge to any project and his time as a project engineer has set him up well.
